    Onizuka's story begins on a coast road, not in a classroom: a name the district knows, alongside Ryuji Danma. Fights, motorcycles, night. This stretch is recorded not by GTO but by the series before it — Shonan Junai Gumi.

    The class runs its method and the method fails: the accusation does not stick, the parental pressure does not stick, the harassment does not stick. Because Onizuka has no reputation to lose and no intention whatsoever of leaving. Nobody awards him the title — he gives it to himself, and the class ratifies it afterwards.
