Shion is the 4th rank Asaemon of the Yamada clan and is the one chosen to be Akaginu's monitor. Shion is a strict but kind man. Shion also has a witty sense of humor, often making puns and jokes regarding his eyesight, which has become a major part of his character to the people around him. Shion is shown to be fearless, showing no fear or hesitation when facing extremely strong enemies.
