Where souls go, though it promises order rather than peace. Inside the white walls: thirteen divisions and a bureaucracy. Outside them: poverty sorted into eighty districts. Soul Society is not an afterlife — only the same inequality, continued after death.
Neither the world of the living nor of the dead: the void between. Endless white sand, a night that never breaks, a moon that never sets. Souls that fall here rise by devouring one another; hunger is the only law Hueco Mundo has.
Above Soul Society there is one more floor, and no one can see it. The Soul King sits there not on a throne but as a seal: what keeps the worlds apart is his existence. What is known about this layer fits on one hand, and this archive will not pretend otherwise.
A thousand years ago they lost, and instead of accepting it they withdrew into shadow. The Wandenreich was built inside Soul Society's own shadow — the enemy was always there, merely unseen. For the Quincy this is not revenge but a deferred reckoning.

How an Adjuchas reaches this stage was never explained in canon. No record.

Driscoll Berci: Grows stronger with every kill: each death adds its weight to the next blow.
Meninas McAllon: Sheer brute strength — the one Schrift with no explanation, no spectacle and no terms.
Berenice Gabrielli: Objects to existence itself: her questions make the enemy doubt what they are. It was barely seen in the field — Zaraki silenced her before the argument could open.
Jerome Guizbatt: His roar is the weapon itself: it tears flesh and stone with sound. He too remains only an entry in Zaraki's record.
James: He is the true bearer: cheering bestows power — the hero he applauds grows stronger for as long as the applause lasts. Even Mask De Masculine is his creation.
Candice Catnipp: The thunderbolt is hers to throw — the power is exactly what the name says, no more and no less.
NaNaNa Najahkoop: Sees the defenseless point in reiatsu: watch a power long enough and he finds the spot where one touch locks its owner still.
Gremmy Thoumeaux: What he imagines becomes real: a body of steel, a meteor pulled from the sky, a second self. The only limit is the nerve of the imagining. Guenael Lee: Vanishes in three steps: first from sight, then from perception, finally from memory. Forgetting him is the power itself.
Nianzol Weizol: Whatever reaches for him bends aside: sword, arrow, building — deflected before it can touch. His defense is never needing one.
Lille Barro: Pierces everything on the line between muzzle and target; when the trigger falls, distance and cover cease to exist. He was the first Quincy ever to receive a Schrift.
Loyd Lloyd: Copies the shape and strength of whoever he touches — down to the blade and the muscle. Royd Lloyd: Copies the other half: with the shape he takes the memories and the self. It was he who died as Yhwach before Yamamoto.

The Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13 and the Quincy emperor met for the first time, and Yamamoto won — but did not kill. A thousand years later Mayuri says it to his face: everything happening now comes from that unfinished blow.
Soul Society put most of the Quincy to the sword. The reason was not revenge but balance: a Quincy annihilates a Hollow, the annihilated soul never returns, and the worlds begin bleeding into one another. The justification for a genocide was an equation.

THE SEALED KING
The defeated emperor withdrew into shadow and built the Wandenreich inside Soul Society's own shadow. Quincy folklore described the return: nine hundred years for his pulse, ninety for his mind, nine for his power. No one read it as a calendar.
The declaration of war did not arrive by letter: in Yamamoto's own office his lieutenant Chōjirō Sasakibe was run through with a javelin, and a masked man announced that Soul Society would be destroyed in five days. They did not wait five days.
卍解the stolen bankai
THE MEDALLION
The captains released their Bankai and the Sternritter raised medallions the size of a palm: the Bankai crumbled in its owner's hands. Soul Society's highest weapon passed into the enemy's inventory in an instant — they were not sealed, they were STOLEN.
Yamamoto died and a thousand years of command ended in a day. At that, the Zero Division — which had never intervened in any threat until then — assembled in the Reiōkyū: the ones who did not lift a finger against Aizen's army came down this time.
Ōetsu Nimaiya told Ichigo that the man he had taken for Zangetsu all those years was in fact the shape of his own Quincy power. The sword was reforged and two blades came out of it: one Shinigami, one Quincy. Ichigo's enemy was in his own blood.
In the second invasion the Wandenreich did not besiege the Seireitei — it took its place. Silbern came down over the white walls and the city simply vanished. Yhwach recited the second verse of the Kaiser Gesang: nine years for his power, nine days for the world.
Yhwach defeated Ichibē, the one who gives names, stabbed the Soul King, and made Ichigo strike the final blow. The power he unfolded saw the whole of the future and could rewrite every outcome it saw — so beating him meant finding the one moment he could not see.

Ryūjin Jakka is the strongest known fire-type Zanpakutō, and most of the time drawing it was unnecessary — his presence sufficed. A thousand years ago he beat Yhwach but did not kill him; the bill for this war was written against that unfinished blow.

Blamed for Aizen's Hollowfication experiments, he was exiled and opened a sweet shop in Karakura. At nearly every turning point of the war there is a device that came from his hands — usually prepared before anyone asked for it.

He came from the very bottom of Rukongai, district eighty, and took his name from it. “Kenpachi” is not a name but a title: it goes to whoever has killed the most, and he won it without a single sword lesson. He has a Bankai — but its name was never spoken in canon.

Head of one of the four noble houses and captain of the Sixth Division, sworn to hold the law above his own family. Adopting Rukia was breaking that oath once; not opposing her execution was refusing to break it twice. Senbonzakura scatters into a thousand petals, and every petal is a blade.

She grew up in Inuzuri, the seventy-eighth district of South Rukongai, and was adopted into a noble house. The decision that begins the whole story is hers: she gave her power to a human, and the sentence for that was death. Sode no Shirayuki is reckoned the most beautiful Zanpakutō; her Bankai takes an area to absolute zero.

One of the Academy's first graduates and one of the two oldest captains of the Gotei 13; the straw hat and the idleness are a deliberate cover. Katen Kyōkotsu turns a fight into a children's game, and whoever loses the game dies. He took over the command after Yamamoto fell.

It looks like an ordinary provincial town, but its spiritual density is not: it draws both Hollows and the ones who hunt them. Much of the war was fought here, over the heads of people who never knew.

A family clinic and, at the same time, a former captain's hiding place. Its sign is in katakana rather than kanji — the most ordinary-looking address in town keeps the least ordinary residents.
浦原商店Urahara Shop
From the street, a small sweet shop down a side road. Beneath it lies a training cavern, and behind the counter stands the man who built the door to Soul Society.
空座一校Karakura Ikkō
The high school of Ichigo and his friends; the classroom where the story starts is here. A handful of students who can see spirits share the same desks with those who cannot.

瀞霊廷Seireitei
The “Court of Pure Souls”: thirteen divisions, a bureaucracy and the noble houses, all inside white walls. The difference between being born inside the wall and outside it survives even death.
流魂街Rukongai
Outside the wall, and where Soul Society's real crowd lives: eighty districts in each of four quadrants, 320 in all. District one is calm and lawful; in district eighty there is no such thing as law.
双殛の丘Sōkyoku Hill
The one place chosen for executions: a rocky mesa at the very centre of the Seireitei. The halberd with the strength of a million Zanpakutō was broken here — and on the day it broke, something in Soul Society broke too.

The giant naginata the hill is named after; its name means “twinned punishment”. Released, it becomes a phoenix of fire and erases not one soul but every possibility that soul held.
懺罪宮Senzaikyū
The “Palace of Penitence”: the white tower where those awaiting execution are held, looking down on the hill. When Rukia was taken out of it, the story turned from a rescue into a civil war.
中央四十六室Central 46 Compound
The compound where forty wise men and six judges are sealed in; most of it lies underground and shut off. When Aizen killed everyone inside and took their place, no one noticed for months — the price of being sealed off.
真央霊術院Shinōreijutsuin
The school Yamamoto founded 2,100 years ago; the Gotei 13, the Onmitsukidō and the Kidō Corps all take their students from it. One of the two places outside Central 46's jurisdiction.

One floor above Soul Society, which no one can see. The only way up is the Ōken — and the Ōken is not a key but a substance made from living bone.

The main shrine: the vast cylindrical structure hanging in the air, where the Soul King is. Not a throne room but a sealing chamber.

Tenjirō Kirinji's headquarters, with healing hot springs inside. Not a place where wounds heal, but a place where healing is forced on you.

虚夜宮Las Noches
Its name means “hollow night palace”, and inside there really is an artificial sky: the ceiling Aizen built always shows daylight. Under a night that never ends outside, a day that never comes inside.

A forest beneath the desert where ordinary Hollows hide from the Arrancar. If what is above is an empire, this is its cellar.
黒腔Garganta
“Black cavity”: the passage torn between worlds. Unlike the Senkaimon it is not a door but a rip — the Hollow road is not built, it is torn.
白い砂漠The white desert
Endless white sand, a moon that never sets and dry bone trees. In Hueco Mundo the first thing that counts as a place is not a building but this emptiness itself.
見えざる帝国
THE INVISIBLE EMPIRE
銀架城Silbern
The “silver frame castle”: the Wandenreich's centre and the barracks of the Sternritter. It stands inside Soul Society's own shadow — the enemy was always there, merely unseen.
影の領域Schatten Bereich
The shadow region the empire sits in, and at the same time the army's road. The Quincy do not cross a distance by walking it; they step into shadow and out of shadow.
真世界城Wahrwelt
The “true world city” — but not a new city: Yhwach seized the royal palace and reforged it, and the Reiōkyū became this. The empire's final capital is the god's own house.

Not a list of arcs. The story is told through the change in Ichigo's sword: as you descend, the blade at the centre of the screen changes shape and the ground turns the colour of that era.

SUBSTITUTE SOUL REAPER
斬月 · Zangetsu
It began by borrowing Rukia's power, and what he borrowed did not fit him: the blade came out taller than he was, crude and heavy. That oversized cleaver in an apprentice's hands was the first shape of a spirit whose name he had not yet heard.

SOUL SOCIETY
斬月 · bandaged
He walked inside the wall to stop an execution, and there the blade spoke its name. The bandage that wrapped it when it was not in use looked less like a sheath than a dressing over a wound — Zangetsu was not carried but hidden.

ARRANCAR
天鎖斬月 · Tensa Zangetsu
Bankai arrived here and did the opposite of what was expected: the blade did not grow, it narrowed. Form shrinks as power rises — the same rule we saw in the Vasto Lorde, this time on the Shinigami side.

THE LOST AGENT
Fullbring
For seventeen months he had no blade at all; he lived as someone who had lost his power. The first edge he got back was not a Zanpakutō but a Fullbring — a sharpness drawn out of his own belongings, and borrowed again.

When Ōetsu Nimaiya reforged the sword, one blade did not come out of it: one long, one short, two separate things. The man he had taken for Zangetsu all those years was his Quincy half, and the blade no longer hid it.
